What actually happened

Job #2059, at my Manhattan apartment. The dates below come from the invoice and the timestamps on my own recordings.

Jul 16, 2026

Window Repair US Inc “adjusted, insulated and sealed” six windows, replaced a roto operator, and billed glass cleaning. Total: $6,500, paid in full.

Jul 21, 2026

Five days later, the windows they were paid to seal leaked worse than before. During rain, water poured — not seeped — through them. I recorded it (below).

Aug 6, 2026

It happened again in the next storm. Not a fluke — the steady state of their work. Now I keep towels on every sill and plastic on the floor.

The refund

I asked them to make it right. They refused any refund, pointing to the invoice’s fine print.

Two separate rainstorms, filmed at my apartment after Window Repair US Inc completed and was paid for the work. This is a $6,500 “insulation and sealing” job.

Red flags, straight from their own invoice

Every item below is quoted or calculated from the actual invoice Window Repair US Inc sent me. Nothing here is exaggerated.

“Deposit is Non-Refundable”

Tucked into the fine print at the bottom of the invoice, below the Pay button. No matter the result, they keep the money.

Effective “with 80%”

Their invoice literally says sealing “will be effective with 80%.” They disclaimed the fix before starting the job.

10% late fee — per week

The invoice charges 10% of the entire job price every week a balance is late. On $6,500 that is $650 a week.

$185 to “clean” each window

$2,590 of the $6,500 — 40% — was billed as window glass cleaning at $185 per pane.

Zelle, wire & checks to an apartment

Payment steered to Zelle, wire, or a check mailed to a Brooklyn apartment — methods with little buyer protection.

Terms you never saw

“By paying deposit you are accepting terms…mentioned on website and in invoice” — terms you are never actually shown.

Beware

David Ratiani

President & CEO, Window Repair US Inc

Public business records — including the company's Better Business Bureau profile and his own LinkedIn — list David Ratiani as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Window Repair US Inc. He is the person ultimately responsible for the company that took my $6,500, left my windows leaking worse than before, and refused to return a cent.

My warning, as his customer: in my opinion, no homeowner should trust David Ratiani's company with their windows or their money. Get everything in writing, pay only by credit card, and read every line of the fine print before you hand over a deposit.
